Happy Thanksgiving, friends! While we can’t offer you a seat at our table or clink celebratory cheers over a great cocktail in person, we can give you an even bigger (better!) surprise: our biggest Black Friday sale ever starts NOW.
We want you to be able to relax with your family tomorrow (and rest up for your Gilmore Girls binge Friday), so here’s our gift to you: shop early, then settle in and relax, knowing the website of your dreams is safely ensconced in your virtual downloads, only waiting for your brand and your work to make it complete.
From now until Monday night, take 20% off our ENTIRE collection of completely customizable sites for creatives – no exceptions, not even the five new top-shelf designs that just hit the shop two weeks ago.
And for those of you who don’t need a new website, no worries: we’ve got something for you here, too. Read on for three of our all-time favorite Thanksgiving recipes your table just won’t be the same without: the perfect fall hors d’oeuvre, a salad that doesn’t feel like a side, and the perfect cocktail to celebrate (with just enough bourbon to drown out Uncle Bob’s endless political monologue… we hope.)
Jean -Georges’ Squash and Ricotta Toast
Jen ordered this rather humble-sounding starter at ABC Kitchen in New York a few years ago and experienced immediate, unexpected food bliss. The flavors of of rich + tart caramelized onions, roasted squash and a deep swath of ricotta on hearty country bread, topped with a fresh mint chiffonade… it’s everything you want from an appetizer, and really, from Autumn eating in general. After a little recipe stalking, it’s become a staple on both of our entertaining tables and it’ll be one of yours, too. Tonic tip: Toast the bread well, don’t leave out the mint – it’s a must – and serve the finished recipe on a big wooden platter.
Kale and Brussels Sprout Salad
Amidst all the rich holiday fare (we hope you’ve been training for this), the light, refreshing crunch of a great salad is practically a lifeline – green been casserole doesn’t count, friends! This one’s not sweet (where most Thanksgiving salads tend to go wrong), but we swear it’ll disappear from the buffet in no time. It’s been devoured by avowed brussels and kale haters alike. Tonic tip: Any kale will do if you don’t find Tuscan, and we’ve halved the Pecorino with no unfortunate results. We make this one all year long!
The Bourbon Bomber
Even if you burn the turkey, your gravy doesn’t set, the mashed potatoes are lumpy, your pie crust does not resemble pie crust, and Uncle Bob refuses to turn off his spigot of unwelcome political commentary, your Thanksgiving will still be a success so long as this cocktail’s on the table. It may look ingredient intensive, but it’s INCREDIBLY batch friendly (click HERE for the big batch recipe), and we’ve never found a better crowd pleaser. Tonic Tip : The bitters and the sprig of rosemary make the cocktail, so as in most things in life, don’t skip the garnish. Oh, and it’s stronger than you think, so serve in small doses!
